6 April – MBS Alumni Toastmaster Club – Everyone speaks; not everyone is heard
According to the author of The 5 Voices, there are 5 leadership styles who lead effectively. Do you know which voice you use daily, or which one you want to strengthen? We turned this concept into our table topics tonight and had great fun!
The 5 voices are unique and RESONATE differently within the organisation. Their impact varies from the lowest, level 1 to the highest, level 5. Nurturer is the most common found in 43% of the population while Pioneer is only 7% of the population.
Level 1 - Nurturer
Champion of relational harmony and values
Level 2 - Creative (9% of population)
Champion of future ideas, innovation and organisational integrity
Level 3 - Guardian (30% of population)
Champion of due diligence, resources, efficient systems and process
Level 4 - Connector (11% of population)
Champion of networks, collaboration, and effective communication
Level 5 - Pioneer
Champion of strategic vision, result-focused problem solving
Another highlight tonight was Pappu's advanced project - Managing a Panel Discussion with the topic “The Role of a Board of Directors”. As moderator, he invited Stefan Lin, Davis Tsui and Sindy Leung to be panelists and share their different roles, responsibility and perspectives as directors in corporate, non-profit and semi-government organisations. We learnt a lot today!
